Troubleshooting

The demo import stops or times out

The import downloads many images and creates hundreds of posts, so it needs more server resources than a usual page load. Ask your host to raise these PHP settings (or set them in your hosting panel), then run the import again:

  • memory_limit: 256M
  • max_execution_time and max_input_time: 300
  • max_input_vars: 4000 (needed to save the large demo menus in Appearance → Menus)

cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 10001 milliseconds

This is a very common server-related issue. In most cases it isn’t created by a particular theme or plugin, nor by WordPress. The first thing to do is to update WordPress to the latest version. If the problem is still there, ask your hosting company to check the following:

  • Make sure your server is running a recent version of PHP and the cURL library.
  • Increase the server memory limits.
  • Check whether there is a limitation with wp-cron, or if loopback requests are disabled.
  • Check whether a firewall or security module (e.g. mod_security) blocks outgoing cURL requests.

You can also install the Query Monitor plugin and check the status of the HTTP API calls on the admin page where the error is displayed.

A player, team or game subpage shows “Page not found”

Go to Settings → Permalinks and click Save Changes once, without changing anything. This refreshes the addresses of the subpages.

The license key doesn’t activate

A license covers one site at a time. Deactivate it on the other site, or free it up in the Freemius User Dashboard, then try again. See Managing Your License.
