Manual Import

If the one-click importer doesn’t work on your server, you can import a demo manually. The required plugins need to be installed and active first. The demo files are in the theme folder, in alchemists/inc/demo/, one folder per demo (basketball, soccer, football, esports, hockey; the Dark versions have their Theme Options in a dark subfolder).

Content

  1. Go to Tools → Import → WordPress and install the WordPress Importer.
  2. Upload the demo’s content.xml and check Download and import file attachments.
  3. Click Submit and wait for the import to finish.

Theme Options

  1. Open the demo’s redux_options.json in a text editor and copy its contents.
  2. Go to Theme Options → Import / Export, click Import from File or paste the contents into the Import Options field, and click Import.

Widgets

  1. Install the Widget Importer & Exporter plugin.
  2. Go to Tools → Widget Importer & Exporter and import the demo’s widgets.json.

Finishing touches

A manual import doesn’t run the setup of the one-click importer, so afterwards:

  • assign the menus in Appearance → Menus → Manage Locations;
  • choose the home page and the blog page in Settings → Reading;
  • choose the demo’s sport in SportsPress → Settings → General;
  • for the Hockey demo, turn on the Officials module in SportsPress → Settings → Modules before importing the content.
