Download the theme from the Freemius User Dashboard (or from your ThemeForest Downloads page if you bought it there) and locate the theme’s zip file, e.g. alchemists-5.0.0.zip. You can install the theme by using one of two installation methods:
WordPress upload
- Log in to your WordPress admin.
- Go to Appearance > Themes > Add New Theme > Upload Theme.
- Click on Choose File and select the theme’s zip file.
- Click on Install Now.
- When your theme is successfully installed, click Activate to activate the newly installed theme.
FTP upload
- Extract the theme’s zip file on your computer. You’ll get an alchemists folder.
- Using an FTP client (like FileZilla), log in to the server where your WordPress website is hosted.
- Navigate to the
/wp-content/themes/directory under your WordPress website’s root directory. - Upload the alchemists folder to the themes directory.
- Once uploaded, go to Appearance > Themes in your WordPress admin and click Activate below the newly uploaded theme.
Please make sure that you’re uploading the theme’s zip file, not the entire package you downloaded. If you upload the wrong file you will get an error stating “Error: missing style.css stylesheet.”
Once installation is complete, Alchemists is active and ready for the next steps: activate your license, install the required plugins and, if you like, import a demo.
